What we collect
Magic Fabric has no accounts, comment fields, newsletter or forms. You can read every page without giving us anything.
Analytics, only if you accept
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and how visitors find them. Until you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Advertising storage is never switched on, even after you accept. Google processes this data as described in Google's privacy policy. Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a).
Your cookie choice
We remember whether you accepted or declined in your browser (local storage and a first-party cookie named mfcc_consent_v2) for 180 days, so the banner doesn't return on every page. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; the banner then asks again.
Emi, the AI oracle
If you open "Ask Emi the Oracle" and tick the box, the messages you type are sent to Inworld AI, which passes them to a language model (from Anthropic or OpenAI) to write a reply. Magic Fabric does not store the conversation and Emi needs no login or name. Don't type anything into the chat you wouldn't want processed by these services. Legal basis: your consent when you start the conversation.
Embedded videos and posts
Some articles contain YouTube or Vimeo videos. They are shown as a still image and only load from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com) or Vimeo when you press play. A few older articles embed Instagram posts, which load from Instagram when you open those pages. Once loaded, these services handle data under their own privacy policies.
Hosting and email
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site against attacks. Email sent to an @magicfabricblog.com address is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. Fonts are served from this site itself, not from a third party.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data about you, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email julia@magicfabricblog.com. If you think your data is handled wrongly you can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
